Just completed my Mini Project- Self Balancing Robot it was awesome all my friends loved it, at the first go, none of them understood how it worked. They were like, what does this robot (lying down) do ? Slide on the floor ? And when I turned it on and the robot started balancing and bobbling around like a baby, they were amazed. This reaction was only possible because most them have seen segway in some shape or form, but haven’t seen an unmanned implementation of the concept.

Project is almost completed just having few problems with it’s overall weight, need higher torque motos. Anyway here are the latest photos.
One of the most important component you will every encounter in electronics is MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor), it’s easy to use, can handle high voltages and high currents, have high switching frequency compared to BJT. And they are nearly everywhere. So it’s important to understand how they work and more importantly how to use them in practical day to day circuits.
This is a small update on my college Mini Project – Self-Balancing Robot.
Till now we have bought all the parts need for the project (will update the BOM as soon as the robot is running)
The structure is very simple, we used old wooden switch board drilled four holes on its corners and used threaded metal rods with washers and nuts to secure the boards in place.
Used a standard pair of angled motor mounts to mount two metal geared motors and attached a 4cm diameter wheels.
So far so good! Will keep you guys and gals updated.

Hey! Fellow nerds! Hope you are having a great weekend. Just a quick reminder the Chinese new year is starting from February 8th so Happy New Year to all my Chinese readers and for all other folks it just mean a Chinese electronics market shutdown for a month, hopefully you have stocked the parts you need. I didn’t, was really in need for some motors and yeah shipping time 15 – 38 days, so going to try my luck in local market tomorrow.
Its my Sixth semester this time and that means I have to make a mini project and after a ton of pleading to my project guide, he accepted my project topic which I really wanted to do for a long time “The self balancing robot”.
This post will be about just some basic explanation and ideas I have for the project and info on upcoming in-depth posts on same.
First of all Happy New Year fellow engineers !
This post is about reviewing PCB manufacturers in Pune. I had to start from scratch on this one, didn’t found any helpful post about this on the internet. So here is my note on the matter, hope it will be helpful. This post is based on the trial run of small quantity of PCB for my personal projects but few of the manufacturer I used also do PCB’s in quantity, contact links at the end of the post.
“Slap on the Batman logo where ever you can. Its just nerd written all over it !!”
Blog has stated getting some traffic and also its been few months I haven’t posted anything so this is just a quick update post on what I am working on and whats coming up.
First of all Happy Holidays!!
